Matthew 4;

This is why Jesus provided the Holy Spirit, so those that love God can be obedient.
With out obedience to God, one is yet in sin, doing their own thing, even using the scriptures to justify ones self.
Jesus lordship is no where to be found in them.
Knowing the truth and living the truth are two very different things.
Get thee behind me satan...

I just love that verse...

Well done Jer. You know those bibles that add headings to sections? This would be a great heading for the parable of the rich man and Lazarus.

Now, if you want an in-depth treatment, DRob, there are several out there. Here's a bit from one:

"Jesus was not trying to explain the physical realities of the afterlife. Instead, He was referring to the unfaithfulness of the Jews regarding their assigned responsibility. As stewards of the special message of truth, they utterly failed to share it with the Gentiles, who were eager to hear it. In fact, the entire chapter of Luke 16 is devoted to the subject of stewardship. "

1) It's not my interpretation, the Truth of Scriptures declares so.

2) Maybe you ought to tell whatever to stick to one or the other of it's voodoo vomit lies, either:
  • someone is surely going into melt-down mood once they see it face-to-face.. "
or not:
  • The dead experience nothing, not even a thought.
And the view of an immortal soul is another fallacy.

My reading of scripture yields a completely different meaning...must be that KJV is really whacked?

This is totally dependent on recall, but those quoted used below--

Quote:
  • someone is surely going into melt-down mood once they see it face-to-face.. "
or not:
  • The dead experience nothing, not even a thought.

are from TWO totally different people...so one cannot be a lie when they are different statements..

Another's statement cannot be used to prove or disprove my personal statement

Are You actually saying that YOU believe in the RESURRECTION from death to life.

OR,

That YOU shall surely, NOT DIE?

(FYI - I never wake up in a bad mood)

For the corruptible must put on incorruption, and the mortal must put on immortality.

Since the Truth says both [John 11:25-26] (and yes: Jesus claimed to be the Truth), you're still in for one rude awaking.

(fyi: Good to know)
