We all start out spiritually dead in the inherited sin of Adam......whether you think it's fair or not it's what the book says. So if we're "dead" spiritually with only our human spirit in operation how does God reach us for salvation?
All thoughts welcome.......back it with scripture of course......everything else is just opinion which isn't helpful...........
A: Jesus says people are in fact dead and in need of rebirth:
John 3:6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.
John 3:3
Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are bornagain.”
B: how does God reach us for salvation?
Answer: Through God's Word the Bible and through Baptism
2 Timothy 3:15
and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures,

Matthew 28:19 Thereforegoandmakedisciplesofallnations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Acts 2:38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ fortheforgivenessofyoursins. AndyouwillreceivethegiftoftheHolySpirit.
Romans 6:3-4 Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptizedintoChristJesuswerebaptizedintohisdeath?
We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that,
just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
Galatians 3:27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.
1 Peter 3:21 and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from
the body but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God. ItsavesyoubytheresurrectionofJesusChrist

How about that? And shock of all shocks, He showed me through the Tabernacle pattern. Will wonders never cease. Peace
Is there something you are not telling us?. So you believe like the universalists that all will be saved from whatever it is they believe they are saved from ?.
From 2 Corinthians 4:4 .....``In Whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of them which believe not , lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ , who is the image of God , should shine on them `` .....See the god of this world is the devil , as the devil hates God and His creation .............. But God through Jesus Christ can give people birth in the spirit to all who will call on the name of Jesus Christ , and repent and seek the Lord
Yes, according to Paul, Adam's sin had consequences for the entire human race. Romans 5:12-19 states that sin entered the world through one man (Adam), and death (spiritual death) resulted from that sin. Because of one transgression all men were comdemned (v.18). Through one man's disobedience the many were made sinners (v.19). 'The many' in v.19 refers to 'all men' in v.18.
That the death referred to is spiritual death rather than physical death is clear from statements of Paul in places such as Ephesians 2:1 and Colossians 2:13 where Paul addresses people who were alive physically, but had at one point been dead in some other way. They had been spiritually dead in their trespasses and sins. Not that they had died spiritually because of their personal sins, for as Paul made clear in Romans 5:12-19 spiritual death resulted from Adams sin. The reference to being ''dead in your sins'' then simply refers to having been in the status of spiritual death. And spiritual death is being separated from God.
This is why Jesus spoke of the necessity of being born again (John 3:7). Being born again is synonymous with being regenerated by the Holy Spirit as Titus 3:5 puts it. We are born physically alive but spiritually dead and must therefore be spiritually born again or regenerated in order to be able to enter into an eternal relationship with God.
When the spiritually dead unbeliever hears the gospel message, the Holy Spirit in grace makes the issue clear and convicts him concerning sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8-11). If the unbeliever responds positively to the gospel by believing on Christ Jesus then the Holy Spirit regenerates him. If he rejects the gospel message concerning Jesus then he remains under condemnation.
And nothing from your Old Testament?...
