I know, right? For all his "mistake" finding, he seems to have no problem swallowing the most glaring example of a theological error there is. Peace
I don't understand people like that, if I thought Paul was like that, I would have no problem dropping every word he said. Acts 21 shows the truth, and if that wasn't the truth, then it makes Paul the worst two faced liar there ever was.
You would think people would choose Jesus over their misguided ideas of Paul, and we know what Jesus said of the law and people STILL choose to contradict Jesus himself, I couldn't live with such contradictions.

I know. I don't understand it, either. Deeply engrossed in their denominational doctrines or lack thereof, maybe? Traditions of men making the word of G-d of none effect.
I go through quite a lot of this off this board, too. Thankfully, so far most of them can be reasoned with, although dumbstruck when they realize it was right there in black and white all along and they didn't "see" it. I think anti-Semitism plays a part as well. So many want a "Christian" Jesus and Paul. Peace

Anti-Semitism is where it began, and so of course, it is the foundation of why Christians left Judaism, out of racist hate.
It's ridiculous to hate a book. People who hate books burn them. We know of at least one on this forum who has done so and is proud of it.
I think the bible is a compendium of stories, allegories, myth, history and nonsense written by primitive people trying to understand their world. Some of it is brilliant. Some of it abhorrent and barbarous. Thankfully, most people know which is which.
What I have come to hate, is the mindset of fundamentalists who think its an inerrant book of historical fact. They want to use their book to control others and that is hateful.

...
I second this. Well said. Would rep if I could.
Ditto.
I look back on the mindset I had when I believed the bible was God's infallible message to the world, and am grateful to have been set free from it. I don't think all people want to control others with the bible, but believing it to be infallible lends itself to that attitude and behavior, sadly.
a lot of power corrupts everyone at one time or another everyone has fallen to it , but the Lord of Hosts. and Jews are very powerful as well as many
"universal " ,"churches" and both have been and will be very corrupt ..
but the true spiritual living stones of the body Of Christ and not any one of men.. only is not corruptible because Christ is our head and only He is beyond corruption.

Thank you for that perspective.
