OP, I thought you must be Jewish. The Israelites were enslaved a LOT! And they're God's chosen people!

Bondage often referred to the indebted to the debtor. We are slaves to our credit cards and our mortgages. At one point there was a Jubilee year (every 7th year) and slaves were set free, debts forgiven... I could handle that today. We'd be looking at 6yr mortgages, though.

Joking aside, human trafficking is despicable. All involved are evil, today, yesterday and always.

There's only one Bible that isn't corrupt in the English language. And that's the KJV.

I doubt you have ever actually studied with the Counsel of thruth concerning finely woven curtains.
If you had, you would never have espoused the antisemitic rhetoric concerning the King of kings.
The primary meaning is slave...

The Old Testament is clear.

“Anyone who kidnaps another and either sells him or still has him when he is caught must be put to death” (Exodus 21:16)

16 And whoever kidnaps a man and sells him, and he is found in his possession, shall surely be put to death.

This is speaking of an Israelite who kidnaps one of his own, the children of Israel, shall be put to death by strangulation...

You 'accidentally' left out the rest.

The Bible is agains the kind of slavery we had here in US.

1 Timothy 1:8–10

Now we know that rthe law is good, if one uses it lawfully, understanding this, that the slaw is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who strike their fathers and mothers, for murderers, the sexually immoral, men who practice homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine,

I think this question ranks right up there with how does the bible justify socialism, or the second amendment, or pick your social justice cause of the day.

I thought all the people who believed that were from past generations and dead by now.

My mother remembers elderly people from her childhood who were horrified when her church started doing services is English because they believed Dutch was the language spoken in heaven.
