“He is the atonement for our sins, and not our sins only, but for the sins of the whole world.”

Do you know what atonement means?

Jesus Christ is the atonement for each and every one of us, the good, the bad and the ugly.

Atonement = katallage

In Rom. 5:18 katallage in the A.V. is translated as such.

HOWEVER

Katallage signifies not atonement but reconcilation, linked firmly with katallasso & to reconcile.

He is the reconciliation for us & the whole world.

Amen, Birdy_56.

In Ephesians 1:10 God is said ἀνακεφαλαιώσασθαι τά πάντα ἐν τῷ Χριστῷ, to bring together again for himself (note the middle) all things and beings (hitherto disunited by sin) into one combined state of fellowship in Christ, the universal bond (cf. Meyer or Ellicott on Ephesians, the passage cited); (Protevangelium Jacobi 13εἰς ἐμέ ἀνεκεφαλαιώθη ἡ ἱστορία Ἀδάμ, where cf. Thilo).

Jer.31:3 God draws people by His love.

Rom.2:4 It is the kindness of God that leads to repentance.

It does not say that the knowledge of impending judgement leads to repentance.

1 Jn.4:18 Judgement involves fear, love casts it out.

If judgement is made the reason to get saved, that implies that we by our repentance can turn away that judgement.

But, Jesus by His sacrifice suffered our judgement upon Himself. And by our accepting what He did on our behalf because He loves us. Salvation is a gift to us. Not what comes to us because we earned it by repenting.

Eph…2:8 Salvation is by grace (unmerited favor) in which God treats us as if we never sinned, therefore we cannot earn it by repenting.

Salvation is by grace, not of works lest any man should boast.

Jn.1:12 We are to accept redemption, salvation by faith, believing in His name.
Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.

1 Jn.3:1 How great a love the Father has bestowed upon us that we should be called the children of God and so we are.

Ps.103:12/ Jesus has removed our transgressions from us before we ever repented.

2 Cor.5:19 God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself, not counting against them their trespasses.

Rom.5:8 God demonstrates His own love for us that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.

Jn.3:16 God so loved the world that He gave of His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.

Repentance is not saying I’m sorry for my sins. Repentance is changing direction.

Acts 26:18 To turn from darkness to light, and from the power of satan unto God.
Rom.1:16 The good news is the power of God unto salvation.

Rom.10:10 Those who hear the good news, believe in their heart and make confession with their mouth unto salvation.

Love is the reason to get saved, not judgement.

1 Pet.2:9 Therefore we can proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called us out of darkness and into His marvelous light… for we have received mercy.

Ps.107:1 Praise the Lord for He is good for His mercy endures forever.

I love to share about God's power and plan to become all in all. Many people believe that God gives man the ability to choose his own final destiny, but the scriptures teach us that from Him, through Him, and to Him are all things. Romans 11:32. All return to Him, so mankind does not control his own final destiny.

God set things in motion and He is the One working all things according to the counsel of His own will (Ephesians 1), not man's will. Mankind's temporary ability to reject God is only temporary. People will not curse God for all of eternity. If they did, evil, sin would exist for all of eternity. However, Jesus came to destroy the power of sin. He will abolish all rule, power, and authority (except the Father's) and this includes the power of in. 1 Corinthians 15. If people curse God for all of eternity, they are still under the power of sin. They remain His enemies for all of eternity.

The very idea of subjection tells us that someone's will is greater than someone else's. Someone will be placed under another. Even Jesus will be subject to the Father, and all that Jesus did was for the Father. He came in His Father's name, not in His own name.

All will be made subject to God, under His will. We cannot argue about or say that it is not fair. We were made for Him, and not vice versa. He is the Potter. We are the clay. We are not on the same level, as some would like to believe. God is sovereign and we are not.

" Few inherit God's reign, but all people will be made subordinates to Him by that reign, so that God will be all in all at the moment the Son hands the kingdom to His Father. What does a broken down subordinate do? He obeys without resistance...

What happens when an enemy becomes subjected to a king? He becomes a subject. He becomes a subject of His Kingdom. The former enemy becomes conformed to the will of Jesus Christ (submitted to God), and is accordingly liberated from sin and death..

The very purpose of all this subduing and subjecting is so that Jesus may hand over the fullness of creation so that God may have a perfect increase, that His plan may fulfill His purpose. Jesus Christ is revealed as the One who was reliable to subdue all things to Himself and that His sacrifice was outright triumphant without loss. " Merciful Truth

God bless.

The angelic host are calling to one another, Holy. We with them are calling to one another as we share the majesty of Father's great Plan in His beloved Son.

Yes, Shana, this God of ours is triumphant as He brings His beloved creation home to His cherished purpose.

“It is in Him, and through the shedding of His blood, that we have our deliverance–the forgiveness of our offences–so abundant was God’s grace, the grace which He, the possessor of all wisdom and understanding, lavished upon us, when He made known to us the mystery of His will. And this is in harmony with God’s merciful purpose for the government of the world when the times are ripe for it-- the purpose which He has cherished in His own mind of restoring the whole creation to find its one Head in Christ; yes, things in Heaven and things on earth, to find their one Head in Him. And you…”

“…Nothing can be lost that is not first owned. Just as a parent is compelled by civil law to be responsible for his family and his property, so the Creator --by His own divine law–in compelled to take care of the children He has created. And that means not only caring for the good children, but for the bad ones and lost ones as well… If a person is a ‘lost sinner’ it only means that he is temporarily separated from the Good Shepherd who owns him. The Shepherd is bound by all duties of ownership to go after all those who are lost until they are found.” -Catherine Marshall-

Amen, Birdy_56. The lost sheep belongs to the Shepherd, no matter how far into darkness the lost sheep goes. God never relinquishes the lost sheep and as the Creator who knows beginning to end, He knows where the lost sheep goes and will end up. We are lost sheep, lost in sin, darkness and ignorance. We may think that we have a lot of knowledge yet still we are lost without a relationship with the Father. God always has the power to find the lost sheep and He has the power to lead the lost sheep back home. You may ask, does He want to find and bring the lost sheep home? Yes. it was His good pleasure to reconcile all to Himself. God bless.

The Master loses nothing! Even leftover pieces of bread & fish from His miracle of feeding well over 5000 hungry.

Yes, dear Shana, He brings every last lost sheep Home.

Gather up the fragments that remain that NOTHING be lost.

"There's a fundamental seduction that leads us to desire a simple, clear, categorized: 'everything in its own' pigeonhole; proof text-established delineation between good and evil. The necessity for communion with God... well, that gets messy. If you have to start with communion with God, He leaves a lot of questions up in the air, leaving you with having to trust Him on the path to glory. He refuses to accept your demand to be provided with a this-is-good, this-is-evil map of the path. He insists that you follow Him, and that gets so messy, so confusing to the mind that wants instruction without communion. It is a narrow Way, but the gate to the Way is not straight, it's STRAIT, as in restrictive and confining, e.g., as in a strait jacket. And the Way is not straight.

It's very curvy, bumpy, up and down, and narrow. There are others walking on the Way with you, behind and in front, and their communion with the Lord is integral to your own, but the narrowness of the road is such that Jesus is shoulder-to-shoulder with you on your together-journey. As the old song goes: "On the Jericho road, there's room for just two; no more and no less, just Jesus and you." I know some might raise the objection that if I conceive of Jesus as WITH us, I am therefore deficient in the revelation that He is IN us. Not so, not so, not so. It is exactly this sort of consideration that calls for the teacher to make his contribution. Jesus, as the Life-giving Spirit, is WITH US, IN US. There is always the dimension of His "withness" involved, in that while He is in union with you, He remains Himself, and you remain yourself, both in union, which union has Him contributing all, you contributing nothing, but enjoying the all of His contribution."
