Christianity is syncretistic in nature, so you actually do follow occult practices, or thoughts which have been mixed and blended into the Scriptures (i.e., various beliefs and mythologies from a variety of cultures).

Loving, serving, and sacrificing for your neighbors is great. But remember that it's the second commandment. The first is love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind (Matthew 22:37). To believe in Jesus is to believe that He paid the full price for your sins, and satisfied the wrath of God in your place so that you can be saved.
If you cannot love who is in front of you (i.e., your neighbor), then you cannot love that which you have not seen. And, the Penal Substitution theory is based on a legalistic perception, that in and of itself is a syncretistic religious concept, as is your view of Hades or the underworld which is often referred to as Hell.

Now, if someone presently is an unbeliever, but is predestined to come to Jesus (see Romans 8:28-39 and John 6:37), then that person is indeed loved by God (Romans 5:7-10). But clearly, that's untrue for most.
What a marvelous plan! How then can you call the gospel the good news?

It's good news to those who have been born again. Just like the physical dead cannot receive good news, so too can the spiritual dead not receive the good news of the gospel.

It’s not good news to anyone who loves their neighbor as themselves.

It's good news to be "saved" while most others will be damned?? That's bad news, unless a person is so selfish as to only care about their own well being.

That right there is the crisis in Christian culture: caring only about one's own 'salvation' as if we are not all connected.

We’re supposed to share the good news.
