I wouldnt say largely overlaps, but i think they overlap around columbia. Even still, columbia is still baltimore.

Baltimore is way more closely related to Philadelphia.

Baltimore, Philadelphia, Brooklyn, & Queens can all pass for each other in plenty of parts.

So now Baltimore is Southern to some? I'm sure NYC and Philly will be the next cities considered...

Or maybe next up: "Is Boston in the Deep South like Jackson, New Orleans and Mobile?"

How about pointing out just one instance of anyone in this thread stating that Baltimore is Southern?

You can't, because not one person has.

It's very common to find people who live in columbia and commute to work in the D.C. metro area. Other cities, like Frederick and Annapolis, are also considered to be in both D.C. and Baltimore metro areas.

Pretty soon Chicago will be southern too right? Because it has the worst economy, is way too suburban, no culture, terrible food, rude people, the highest crime in America, and of course, no public transportation.

I would generally agree with those points, but Chicago is definitely Northern.

It's the Capital of the Rust Belt. The Rust Belt is definitely a northern phenomenon.

Baltimore is northeastern. So is DC. To suggest otherwise is completely absurd.

Baltimore is very similar to Philly in its makeup and design but that doesnt necessarily make it a northeast city imo.

The "northeast" for me ends in Wilmington/Newark De.Then there is a 75 mile stretch of rural/suburban landscape. That gap through northern Md is what seperates the northeast from the mid atlantic.

Citywise- Baltimore strongly resembles Philadlephia

Areawise- Baltimore is more closely associated with Washington/Richmond than Philly and points N
