since i live in the chicago area i know this area the best
its sheer size is bigger than most can imagine and if LA is bigger , which it is
then it most be massive
Houston, Boston , DF , Detroit, SF,DC
Cleveland, ATL, Bltim

Seoul definitely belongs on that top list as well. Roughly 10.5 million people in the city proper of 233sq/m with a density of 45,000 sq/m, that place is a mega metropolis. I would say Tokyo/Seoul 1&2 from personal experience.
