As tmac was saying this is so much more than bank deposits. Otherwise cities like Winston-Salem and Birmingham would be included. This is more. Financial activities.
No one said that banking deposits are everything but BofA owns Merrill Lynch and is also heavily involved in private wealth management, or didnt you guys know that?
And Im still waiting for justification for Paris to be lower than Montreal.

Would think it would rank higher than Jersey (UK), Munich, Frankfurt, Sydney, and Melbourne
Montreal 33
.
.
Boston 20
Munich 19
Toronto 18
San Francisco 17
Dubai 16
Geneva 15
Beijing 14
Washington 13
Zurich 12
Chicago 11
Amsterdam 10
Sydney 9
Frankfurt 8
Paris 7
Shanghai 6
Singapore 5
Hong Kong 4
Tokyo 3
London 2
New York 1
Dunno where you would rank the two but I think ATL would be higher than Dallas. Charlotte too. Kansas City, I would actually rank lower.
I'm not exactly understanding. Are you ranking Charlotte and Atlanta above San Antonio and Dallas? It would be nice to see your top 10 US financial centers.

I think most of the ML activity happens in NYC. I wish some more investment trading happened Charlotte but that sort of infrastructure is beginning to shape and picking up steam. I was aware of what you're saying but that nod goes to NYC.
As far as Paris and Montreal, the purpose of this thread is the top10 US financial centers.

Then we are probably better off totally discounting that ranking altogether because its obvious errors in ranking foreign cities raises the question of its accuracy in ranking US cities as well.

I would definitely rank ATL above Dallas. Both are home to Federal Reserves but ATL beats Dallas in investment, Banking, Insurance etc.
Like I said earlier 6-10 would probably be hard to rank, and much lower than 1-5
Giving it a shot it would probably go like this
1. NY
2. Chicago
3. San Francisco
4. Boston
5. DC
6. Philadelphia
7. Atlanta
8. Minneapolis St Paul
The rest would be, and that is just from off my head, between Charlotte, Pittsburgh, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Miami, San Antonio,
was kinda confused. I think BBVA Compass in headquartered in Birmingham, but is a subsidiary of a company headquartered in Spain with US offices in Houston. OMG sooooooo confusing.

If its the same BBVA that I know of, then BBVA stands for Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria. Its a huge Spanish outfit.

Thats the one. Didn't even know they had a presence in Houston apart from the bank depots themselves.
Didn't know that Houston headquartered Wells Fargo South Central office, Didn't Know that Amegy, Prosperity and Woodforest Banks were as big as they are.
Lol, didn't know that Houston was a headquarter for any bank, or bank holding company other than the really small ones.
