Minneapolis and Chicago have obesity rates within approximately 2% of one another, and both have rates below the national average.

The List: The Most Obese Cities | US Obesity Rate & Skinniest Cities | LiveScience

More Than 15% Obese in Nearly All U.S. Metro Areas

Generalizations are fun, until those darn facts get in the way.

But this wont change anyone's mind anyway.

Out of sight, out of mind? That's your defense? Last I checked, those "small portions" are still in the city of Chicago.

All cities have their problem areas, but few as problematic as Chicago's.

Well, considering that no city is immune to crime, and the most desirable areas are safe areas, wouldnt that apply to every single city in America, and possibly the world?

Out of sight, out of mind is a mindset, that is everywhere. No?

If someone is living in say, Roscoe Village, youre saying you should be fearing for your life every moment? Really?

See my edit. All cities have their problem areas, but Chicago's are considerably more problematic. This all started because I ranked Mexico City above Chicago for safety, based on a much lower murder rate. Chicago is bad. The amount of murders in the city are neck and neck with Los Angeles...Los Angeles COUNTY (9.9 million people). It is what it is.

Again. It is still a fact, that Chicago's crime is mostly concentrated in certain areas, and that you have zero reason to go to. That counts toward safety IMO. If LA had the same crime rate but concentrated in certain areas, I guarantee you would be defending it the same.

How many New Yorkers go to the South Bronx in their lives? You can spend your entire life in a city that has bad crime and never enter the worst areas. New York crime may be safe on the whole, but no different than your example, when its bad, its bad.
