All this time I was gloating and bragging about LA when in reality, I should be more respectful of the very sad state of Montreal's economy.

Has LA decreased it's homicide rate yet? Isn't there like 110 murders there right now? More than last year so far.
LA could learn something from cities like NY, Montreal or Toronto.

Well, it's because they are less productive, they have slower economic growth, slower job growth and are pretty much in a recession compared to Los Angeles. Montreal has been in a vegetative state economically since the early 1980s.

Quebec has around $200 Billion in outstanding bond debt vs $75 Billion for California, which has a $2 Trillion economy and 38 Million people.

For all the snobbery and sloppy dismissals by uninformed North people and their sad defenders, Los Angeles really does slap down Montreal quite convincingly.

You still have yet to prove that L.A. has better shopping, dining, or hotels that Montreal. You keep claiming it to be true, but if you cannot provide links, you are just a liar.

It is you who is the sad defender of Los Angeles. Montreal wins this battle convincingly. Don't believe me? Look at the score.

Montreal has nothing by comparison. LA is a global trendsetter. Montreal is a regional hub for like French speaking people in Canada.

He's from Oakland though . Which is widely considered California's armpit.

But for Montreal vs. Los Angeles.... The city with more Gucci stores or the safer more livable city..... I prefer the latter.
