I always thought Texas was the Southwest not the South. Texas is basically different from the rest of the South and the Southwest.. Texas is sort of its own region now.

While Southern the Texas Cities kind of have there own vibe so to speak.......both Charlotte and Atlanta have tons of transplants but I think Atlanta probably still retains a bit more of a Southern vibe the NC cities due to the insane growth really do have parts where it almost feels like nothing but relocated New Yorkers/or folks from New Jersey and northern states.......I

Try Texas West of the Pecos River. El Paso is the only truly Southwestern city in Texas. Though I do believe that Texas is a state where East meets West, or South meets Southwest. It's just that about 90% of Texas' population is within the portion of the state that is Southern.

Wrong, based on sheer size Atlanta is not southern anymore. And why is it wrong to be southern? I was at an intersection the other day and saw more orange NY plates than GA, same with NJ and the other 48 states.

Yes, it does seem to be some sort of voodoo if it is Southern.

I'm currently living in Charlotte, I moved from New Orleans. I can tell you the people here talk with VERY southern accents. I was even culture shocked (as a southern) by how people talk, how sloooow everything moves, and the old southern sayings I encounter daily.
So I would Charlotte is the most southern of those choices. Not sayings theres anything wrong with being more southern, just is what it is.
