Seattle has an extended fall that bumps into an extended spring. Seattle doesn't even get winter. At all.
It's like saying, "Which city has a worse winter: Toronto or Phoenix?"
Winter doesn't have to mean freezing temperatures every day. Seattle definitely has a winter, it's just not as harsh in terms of temperature as the winter in the middle and eastern thirds of the country.

I wouldn't call today or two days ago winter days - 52-54 degrees and very pleasant.
The winters in both cities suck, and it's a good debate. What I don't understand is when people say "Hey, in Seattle it just drizzles a little all day, it doesn't really rain that much." and think this is a positive statement.
Honestly, I'd much prefer several large rainstorms that douse the city, with the in-between being dry, then have a constant, miserable misty/gray/drizzle that never ends. Seattle's 8-9 months of gray drizzle sounds like a personal hell, to be honest. But then again, Minneapolis is so frigid cold that it hurts.

First of all, Seattle doesn't see drizzle all day every day. There are many days in the winter that don't see any rain at all. Second, 8-9 months of grey is like saying Minneapolis has subzero temperatures 6 months of the year - total exaggeration.

Tough call.
It is not even a remotely close debate. It's like comparing a winter un Calgary to Atlanta.
Minneapolis- winters are LONG. about 5- 6 months. Temps can be below zero. Snow- i wouldnt worry because they are on top of things here. YOu wont miss a day of school or work. It's not like the east coast where they shut down the city
