Florida. But this all boils down to preference and what you like. I like warm weather, Latin culture, and the ocean and water sports, so obviously I would pick to live in Miami over a place like NYC. NYC I have no desire to ever live in, unless a good job offer was made. New York state is a very nice state with lots to see and do and certainly has more variety than Florida, but ultimately Florida is a better fit for me.

Please convince all the New Yorker's who abandon their home state to congest our highways and beaches every winter that Florida it isn't that great, and to stay put!

hehe and to think PDF is a native Floridian, saying FL isn't that great, but then again New Yorkers move to FL in droves. I guess they prove him wrong..Go figure..

Florida for sure for me. NY state (minus NYC) has wonderful places to live and great people. But FL is just more livable for what my family and I would like in a place to live.

The parts of New York that aren't NYC are actually pretty sweet.

I’m from NYC & love it, but it’s almost impossible to live out here with the high rents. Even the Bronx is now expensive and it’s suppose to be the cheapest borough. I used to live in FL and I did like it but man the heat it’s just too much for me. I’m someone that needs four seasons.
I say if you can afford to live in NY then yes NY is #1 for me but if your someone who’s struggling I say FL.

Well have lived in both states. They both have their pros and cons.

Ny sucks outside of the NYC area, and Ithaca and Saratoga Springs.
FL sucks outside the beachy areas and a few cool downtowns throughout the state (Mt Dora, Miami Beach, etc)

NY job market is a lot better than FL's customer service/retail based market.

Personally, I dont like either state. NY is pricey, NYC is wicked dirty and vastly overhyped, FL is a sweaty car dependent land of $8.75 an hour jobs. But atleast in NY you are close to other big places.

So Id take New York over Florida if I was forced to live in either one.
