Port Townsend... If I had to be in an isolated seaside/oceanside town, I'd prefer to be in the Pacific Northwest rather than deep into New England. It's much closer to the Seattle metro than Bar Harbor is to Boston's (yet alone Portland's) and you don't have to deal with any snow.

Greensboro, just because it's in the South. There are things about Allentown and eastern PA that appeal to me, though.

State College, PA or Ames, IA?

Ames IA, it isn't as isolated, as Des Moines is just minutes away.
