Hmm this looks like Chattanooga (including urban core) vs suburban Nashville. I think in this case I'll take Nashville, although there are many appealing neighborhoods in Chattanooga's core. Nashville offers enough to make up that difference in urban living.

Austin v San Jose, CA

Austin, I would generally prefer California, but I'd really enjoy living in Austin, I love the food, the city, and the nearby Hill Country.

Fredericksburg, TX or Corpus Christi, TX?

Hmmmm.

Fredericksburg is in that belt of German settlement in the Hill Country, where the best barbecue in Texas comes from.

But Corpus Christi is on the Gulf coast and has more things going on within it.

Gotta go with the Q. Fredericksburg, and if I want urban, I'll drive to Austin or San Antonio, I guess, much as I'd rather not have to do that.

Lancaster or York, Pa.? (That's right - a "Where Would You Rather Live?" War of the Roses.)

Lancaster ,as the surrounding countryside is very attractive. I've never heard anything nice about York..

Flagstaff, AZ vs. San Jose, CA

Flagstaff. Nice area. San Jose is over the top expensive and I care nothing about living in CA in general.

Erie, PA or Sheboygan, WI?
