Bakersfield... much larger city/metro with more jobs/amenities, it's located in a more interesting geographic region with close proximity to national forests, and it's only 2 hours away from LA and the beach.

Spokane, WA or Lincoln, NE?

I'm thinking Spokane just for its setting and surrounding scenery.

Portage, Michigan or Portage, Indiana?

Portage, Michigan or Portage, Indiana?
Michigan. Wouldn't want to be near Gary. Augusta GA or Columbus GA?

Augusta. Columbus is too much of a military town. Augusta has more culture and has made more of an effort to market itself as an inland, poor man's Savannah.

Lakewood, Colorado or Lakewood, Washington?

Lakewood, Colorado or Lakewood, Washington?
Lakewood, Colorado. It's in a good location not far from the foothills and Downtown Denver. Lakewood, WA, is closer to Olympia than Seattle, and I have no desire whatsoever to live within 200 miles of Seattle. The climate is meh, and it's insanely overpriced (not just housing).

Grand Forks, ND, or Pine Bluff, AR?

Grand Forks, ND, or Pine Bluff, AR?
Grand Forks. My goodness no comparison. Most places I’ve seen in ND have been pretty nice and I see no reason GF would be any different.

Pine Bluff is one of the most crime ridden places in the entire U.S. and in a state where redeeming qualities are hard to come by.

Omaha or Fort Worth?

Fort Worth since you're part of/close to Dallas, which has a lot more going for it than Omaha lol

Los Angeles, California or Milwaukee, Wisconsin?

Rochester MN or Rochester MI?

Rochester MN. Nice city and would rather be in MN anyway. Arlington VA or Arlington TX?
