Athens, GA in a more prosperous region and nicer downtown. I also like the fun thrift stores and food scene.

San Antonio, TX or Wilmington, DE?

Wilmington looks bigger than it is, but San Antonio is bigger than Wilmington. The Paseo del Rio beats the Christiana riverfront as well.

Wilmington, Del., or Wilmington, N.C.? (I believe these are the two biggest cities with that name in the country.)

Wilmington NC for me. I prefer the smaller city pace over the hustle of a metro area like Philly.

Windsor ON, or Niagara Falls ON?

Even though I'd give Metro Detroit the edge over Metro Buffalo, and downtown Niagara Falls, Ont., is kinda tacky, the Canadian side of the falls has nicer parks overall, and Niagara Falls, Ont., is nicer-looking overall than either its New York State sibling or Windsor. Niagara Falls it is.

West Des Moines, Iowa, or Mission Hills, Kan.?

Mission Hills. Even though I prefer the smaller size of metro Des Moines, the KC area just has so much to offer for my specific interests and would be a great place to raise my family. Plus, I just checked the weather and it's 3 degrees in West Des Moines at the moment , but a balmy 26 in Mission Hills.

Germantown, Maryland or King of Prussia, Pennsylvania?

Nashua, NH. Nice downtown commercial areas with a great mix of businesses and museums. Worth a spring/summer visit.

Plano, TX or Marietta, GA?

Plano. Would much rather be in TX. Lawton OK or Joplin MO?

Joplin. It's near the Ozarks and is greener. Lawton is right on the edge of where big trees end and the grasslands begin - plus it's too military-centric.

Carson City, Nevada or Las Vegas, New Mexico?

Carson City... it's a larger city and it's closer to Reno than Las Vegas is to Santa Fe (which is a lot smaller than Reno). The proximity to Lake Tahoe is the icing on the cake.

Blythe, CA or Ely, NV?
