Which inland California city that's often hated on by the coastal dwellers:

Stockton or Bakersfield?
Bakersfield for sure. I like the plethora of museums, riverwalk, nice restaurants and shopping. Stiff competition in the Los Angeles area, but it still offers a good quality of life.

Las Cruces, NM or Missoula, MT?

Las Cruces. Love NM and close to a larger metro. Jacksonville FL or Louisville KY?

Louisville.

I would prefer a mild 4 season climate. I've never been to Louisville but the parts of KY I've been to seemed like a nice place to live with good people. I liked the rolling hills around Lexington. Very calming. I could definitely live in KY.

the downside... No Florida man stories on the news. Lol

Truth or consequences NM or Intercourse PA?

Truth or consequences NM or Intercourse PA?
Intercourse, since it's inbetween numerous populated areas. I.e. Philly, Lancaster, York, Baltimore, Reading, the list goes on. I'm sure ToC is okay to live in, but it's more isolated than I'd prefer to live.

Former college rivalry, even if both no longer are in the same conference: Columbia, MO, or Lawrence, KS?

Lawrence. Slightly smaller, but much closer to KC for big-city amenities.

Keeping that theme going: Athens, GA or Gainesville, FL?

Athens, it seems a bit quirkier and more urban. Also has a strong musical legacy for a city of its size (R.E.M., the B-52's, Widespread Panic, apparently Neutral Milk Hotel??) and I'd imagine that's reflected in the local music scene these days.

Boulder, CO or Eugene, OR?

Alexandria, LA easily. It has more of an actual downtown on the river and the city has some things that I like such as coffeeshops and breweries. Cairo seems much smaller, and just looks like a dump to be honest.

Arlington, VA or Evanston, IL?

As someone who is partial to Chicagoland, I am going to go Evanston here. Evanston is itself obviously a nice suburb with a walkable core and access to both CTA and Metra trains; but it is the lakefront that puts it over the top for me.

Las Vegas NV or Phoenix AZ ?

Las Vegas, NV due to the casinos and tourist attractions they have there. Phoenix while it looks good it is more of a suburban city to me.
Illinois college towns that is not Chicagoland/Bloomington/Champaign
Dekalb, IL or Carbondale, IL
