NYC is a great place to visit.... but no way could I imagine living there.

Rochester or Omaha
Omaha... I prefer Rochester's regional location but Omaha gets far less snow and I like their urban core better so they edge this one for me.

Amarillo, TX or St. George, UT?

St. George, UT. I'd usually be against living in resort towns, but St. George is pretty large(82,000) and I really have zero motivation to live in Amarillo. St. George wins.

Kansas City, MO vs. St. Louis, MO

You would put this pairing up in a forum with a known Kansas Citian participating in the discussion.

Were you aware of the likely response?

St. Louis doesn't stand a ghost of a chance. My forever hometown FTW.

Sioux Falls, S.D., or Rapid City, S.D.?

Sioux Falls.... Visited Rapid City/Mount Rushmore as a kid and I remember the area being quite beautiful but Sioux Falls is larger and much closer to other population centers so I think it would better suit my interests.

Tampa, FL or Austin, TX?

Minneapolis/St. Paul. The area is more livable and closer to larger cities.

Pensacola, FL. The downtown is flourishing with new restaurants and residential development. Pensacola is a nice town.

Knoxville, TN or Augusta, GA?

Knoxville. One of the more underrated small metros. Great climate, things to do for its size, affordable, and very livable. Augusta's good too, but I like Knoxville a good bit more.

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN or Phoenix, AZ?
