Yeah, NY vs LA has been done a million times.

I'm not sure what the point of leaving out the winter months is in the first place, but it doesn't even really matter because the main topic of this thread has been about weather the whole time anyway

I love NY but I'll take LA. As quiet as its kept Spring is beautiful in Los Angeles. The blooming of the Jacaranda trees, the Bougainvillia blooming across the city in all those vibrant colors. The weather is more to my liking in LA. And I love the layout of the city with the mountains slicing right through the middle. Throughout the months mentioned I prefer LA's weather and city vibe. New Yorks summers alone are way to hot and humid for me. And all of that closeness makes it too uncomfortable for me.

NYC, although summer is my least favorite season here. BUT, with that budget and radius I could spend the dog days in Montauk or Block Island and be quite a bit happier.

Why do you feel that LA is run of the mill, and there's nothing special about it?

There are a lot of points of interest in Los Angeles. In fact, it would take weeks to see all of them.

The months are irrelevant to me. I pick NYC for any 7-8 month period. LA's weather isn't enough of a draw for me. All the money in the world won't buy my way out of traffic.

Let's be real though, with that kind of money, you're gonna be living the sweet life either way.

If the budget was $2 million? Well, now it gets more interesting...

This is tough. If the radius was increased slightly and LA could include SF, it would easily go to LA. Of course, San Diego, Santa Barbara and the desert easily beats the Hamptons and New Jersey.

Increase the radius slightly? Los Angeles is over 380 miles away from San Francisco. NYC is only 226 miles away from Washington DC. Boston and Philadelphia are much closer. Not to mention all the other Northeastern cities within that densely populated 380 mile radius. Your comment doesn't make sense on many different levels. NYC no contest.
