You shouldn't expect all these other cities to be like Manhattan because it's not going to happen. I have heard Toronto compared to Queens a lot though. They have a lot of similarities when it comes to demographics/diversity + urban environments.

I've also seen people compare Brooklyn and Montreal but I can't speak on that because I've never been to Montreal.

I've only spent a weekend in Montreal, but I didn't get a Brooklyn vibe at all.

You haven't been to Chicago, Toronto or New York City? Man, I envy you. You're going to have the time of your life visiting these cities.

BTW, all three of them are significantly bigger than Boston.

Also, do the hop-on hop-off double-decker tours in these cities at some point if you can.

They give an impressive overview for first-time visitors and it's easy to get off at many different attractions.

Yes this video from a double decker gives a perspective one can see in Chicago going through its streets. Not sure the time of day or day of week or more then one.

This one from 2013 isn't bad and one of the best.
If you don't like the music turn the volume down and in HD to go to full screen.

But this is a NYC vs. Chicago thread.
Boston is not really vibrant at all compared to larger cities. Honestly, it's more in the vibrancy discussion with Minneapolis or Pittsburgh than Chicago or NYC.

Hmm...what is the advantage of living in Boston then?
