I think Philadelphia should be present on that list.

Often has a negative stereotype, which is either dated or not true. Many people realize that once they visit.

Especially on this forum, Atlanta. Compared to say Detroit it has a functional and vibrant urban core, and a Mass Transit system (albeit, small) but it gets blasted for just about everything on a scale that basically no other city does.

So basically every city is misrepresented.

I think you are right about St. Louis.

I honestly cannot really think of a stereotype for any of those 3 cities. The only thing that comes to mind is BBQ, for KC.

A third vote for Philadelphia. It’s hardly recognized for its high points (gorgeous nature/parks, cosmopolitan aminities, and generally good, polite population). Everything I hear/see about it in the media is related to crime, sporting events antics, and political mismanagement-which tell me, what city doesn’t have those issues?

I would say Los Angeles. There is so much to uncover and it's a much more layered city than I imagined it to be when I visited last. It's always evolving and changing in very palpable ways.
