The density in Nashville looks more impressive. The rate of growth is also astonishing. Completely different looking city compared to several years ago while Charlotte has made more incremental improvements.

Yeah, I think Nashville's skyline developments over the past several years just appear "more drastic" due to Nashville not being as "already built up," as Charlotte was.
Charlotte went through their boom from roughly the late 90s to the mid 2000 teens, and now they are still building fast, but not as much as they were.
I feel like Nashville now is where Charlotte was during their boom, so we are seeing like 75-100 years' of skyscraper growth condensed into like 10 years or so.
Nashville is more structurally dense. Proven fact.
No it's not. Charlotte is also more urban over a larger contigious area and has more pockets of urbanism. Nashville is alot more sprawlsy and urban wise is behind Charlotte. There is no SouthPark or Ballantyne that are also urban business centers which have construction of their own. There is no mass transit that is producing tons of t.o.d. SouthEnd I'd producing its own skyline and the density is spreading into further out neighborhoods such as Queens rd, Cotswold, etc...
So I assume you went out and measured block and street widths in each city...

It's not denser and Charlotte is more urban over a larger area. I was in Nashville in February. It's smaller. It's dense and very nice but smaller. Charlotte urbanism bleeds into its neighborhoods including SoutEnd...
Nashville is much more active though and seems to have better historical building preservation downtown.
I wouldn't say this either when we are looking at perspectives. Pre- covid Charlotte was more vibrant during the business day. Now 70% of the population works remotely from home that worked in Uptown(banks). Also Charlotte has the over street mall where all of the buildings are connected by skyway and have restaurants, shops,etc. Uptown at night especially Wednesday thru Sunday is everybit as active as Nashville and then you throw in the outer neighborhoods.. Its also active on the weekends during the day. You guys need to spend more time in Charlotte.

The only thing Charlotte has over Nashville is taller skyscrapers and more high-rises. Nashville has the larger urban core (footprint wise) and is more consistently built out.
