Lexington, KY
Huntsville. Southern and German culture, similar feel, state research universities, and close to mountains. Appalachian influenced culture. Similar shopping, things to do, and white collar jobs. Very fast growing, expanding airports, and close to much larger metropolitan areas (Nashville and Cincinnati). The Summit shopping center is nearly identical to Town Madison and Hamburg looks a lot like the Airport Rd./Carl T. Jones area.

Strikes me as a city around lush green hills and lots of horses nearby. Hattiesburg MS?

Augista, GA
Montgomery, AL due to a mostly African American population (around 60-65% for each) and because both are bounded by rivers for part of their city limits. The Alabama River is to Montgomery as the Savannah River is to Augusta.

Valdosta, GA is another similarly sized city with a medium sized state university.

I picked Madison for Eugene a while ago so this time I'll go with Platteville, WI. Another, more normal college town close(-ish) to the much bigger, more progressive and crunchy one. Again, similar geography.

Elgin, IL

Probably Naperville. Similar in size and both are suburbs of Chicago. Madison WI?

Harrisburg, PA. Both state capitals known for their colleges and universities. Dense, urban downtowns blended with small town feels. Gentrification and demographic shifts have changed the cities, economically. Madison is further along in its redevelopment of its downtown. Wonderful, extensive museum culture as well as fun bars to visit. Outdoor activities, lakes, and rivers also dot their landscapes.

Mason, OH

McCandless Township is a wealthy suburb of Pittsburgh. The culture and terrain are both similar.

Overland Park, KS

None of the small cities in WA are really anything like Medford, so maybe Redding CA? Similar white, working-class, conservative vibe, also on I-5, similar size too

This one was a little tough, but I'll say Saginaw, MI. They both are historic industrial upper Midwest port cities on the Great Lakes(yes even Saginaw, despite that it was slightly inland from Lake Huron), that a decent percentage of residents claim German as part of their heritage, and both cities have a mom and pop amusement park(by this I mean it is NOT connected to Cedar Fair, Six Flags, Disney, Universal, etc) that isn't well known, outside of these 2 cities.

Duluth, MN
