St. Paul's tallest tower (Wells Fargo Plaza) is 10 miles from Minneapolis's tallest tower - with antennas (IDS Tower).
I was told that people in St Paul consider them selves more cosmopolitan then Minneapolis and they consider Minneapolis their largest suburb, is that true?

Some in St. Paul may think this, but everyone else knows it's not true.
LOL that does not surprise me. We have the same thing in the Pueblo/ Colorado Springs area.
Yeah, but Colorado Springs and Pueblo are about 40 miles apart (correct me if I'm wrong) whereas Minneapolis and St. Paul literally border one another and are considered to be one city by many.

You are right but the cities are growing together fast, in fact with the latest annexation Pueblo made to the north it brings the city limits only 1 or 2 miles away from Fountain, the suburb between Colorado Springs and Pueblo, thus in a way we are connected now on paper although we need to grow to fill it in.
Another thing is the two cities share all the same major media from radio to tv stations.
Clarke County (Athens) touches metro Atlanta counties Barrow, Jackson, and Walton...and Macon's metro touches 3 Metro Atlanta counties as well. So those two are right next door to Atlanta...and both feel like younger siblings.
Actually Columbus touches Metro Atlanta also...I didn't realize that before I looked it up. Metro Atlanta isn't really that far from other cities. Athens, Macon, and Columbus are within an hour's drive of Downtown Atlanta. Chattanooga, Augusta, Greenville, and Birmingham are about 2 hours away. Charlotte, Asheville, Columbia, Knoxville, Huntsville, Nashville, and Montgomery are 3 hours or less from Atlanta.
isn't atlanta a well-known southern suburb of nashville...because nashville is considered to be the most extreme suburb of memphis---but just a suburb because it is not large engough to be a real city!
