Anyone who says anything other than places like Nebraska, Idaho, South Dakota, North Dakota, Idaho, etc is out of their mind.
Remember it is all in fun...I eliminated my own state(one reason being that people have to put up with me...LOL)...it was meant to reveal the negative mental images(stereotypes) we all have about different states...not to actually drop 2 states...
The only state I would say get rid of is Delaware and their freakin toll for traveling 5 miles on I-95! Go to Toll Hell Delaware! I will never spend another dime in your state.
Arizona and New Mexico. Why are these states important? They're deserts, not THAT populated, nothing really unique there. no one would miss them
You obviously know very little about your US states. Arizona consists of the Phoenix-Mesa-Glendale area which is a larger metro area than the San Francisco, Seattle, San Diego, St. Louis, Portland, Denver, Las Vegas, and Charlotte metro areas. Moreover, Arizona is home to 11 Fortune 500 companies and sports teams like the Phoenix Suns, Arizona Cardinals, and Arizona Diamondbacks; it's also home to the University of Arizona and Arizona State . That said, I'd consider Arizona a pretty important state.
As far as New Mexico goes, it's home to Albuquerque which is the 34th largest city in the US and the 6th fastest growing city for business and industry in the US, according to CNN Money.
Hopefully, this answers your question as to why both of these states are important. If anything, there are many other states (such as South Dakota, North Dakota, Idaho, etc) that are much less important than Arizona and New Mexico.
Not being so serious I'd pick Alaska and Hawaii, and just keep it the lower 48 like it used to be.
But if this were serious I'd pick Cali and Texas. Cali's already almost foreign to us and Texas wants to be its own nation again (I'm not hating on Texas, just saying what I've heard).
