Sad but interesting data. I am shocked by a few of the cities on the list; and by the high poverty rates......truly a shame.

Actually, The Bronx is the poorest urban county in the country with more than 380,000 residents in poverty

Where did you read this?

The Bronx only encompasses about 18% of NYC. It still doesn't put NYC on the list of poorest cities

The Bronx has about 28% of its residents in poverty and Brooklyn has 21% in poverty. That doesn't take away from the fact that they are probably my 2 favorite boroughs in the city though.

I believe it, since i teach in the south Bronx, and nearly all the schools in the area are Title 1. 95% of the 1000 students in my elementary receive free lunch. But my point is that it ends up balancing out, since the other boroughs have some very wealthy areas that make NYC in general not that poor.

That is a list for cities abouve 250,000 residents I think

If it were all cities period, then E St Louis would be near or at the top
