Since the OP asked which is more important, in 2013 I would say its close but edge to DFW.

Its location and economy just makes it more important today.

This.. They can keep the 100+ heat all summer, massive tornadoes, Killer bees, etc in Dallas.

Both are as important though.

Dallas and its industry is probably more important to the country than Philly. I wouldn't really want to live in either city but would prefer Philly over Dallas due to big city urbanity. I've had some great times in Fort Worth though.

Tornadoes are less than rare in Dallas. As well as killer bees.
