Yeah, Publix is a Florida-based Supermarket, that has spread it's stores to up to ATL. I think that's the FURTHEST north Publix has gone. I haven't seen ANY Publix here in NC or in SC. They have these 2 REALLY nice, rich, futuristic looking Publixes in South Beach and Fort Lauderdale.
I'll slap my mama for one of their deli sandwiches and iced tea. Great chicken wings and the Birthday Cakes are the BEST.
Clean stores, excellent customer service. They are more consistent overall than Kroger or Super Walmart. In other words, you're more likely to run into a clean, well lit Publix than you are a bad one. Kroger's are more hit-and-miss.
They are a bit pricey though. I tend to go to Kroger more, because I have a shopper's card there.
Sounds awesome. HEB stores can range from great customer service to the worst ever.

Actually, Publix is all over South Carolina. Particularly in Upstate (Greenville/Spartanburg) SC, Hilton Head and Charleston. I think there are some in Columbia too.
They have also made inroads into Birmingham and Nashville as well.
Believe it or not, Publix didn't expand outside Florida until 1991.
I think all of them have their hits and misses. I think that the eclectic nature of Houston makes it the most architecturally inventive and adventurous out of the three.
i gotta disagree. i mean from the homes to the skyscrapers, atlanta has the most aesthetically pleasing structures. i love the boa and the ibm building
i guess you could say that houston has more innovative looking townhomes and condos, but other than that...

As for "black-tivity", while Dallas and Houston may not have quite as much as Atlanta, they aren't exactly a slouch. JMHO.
i certainly agree, but its not like in atlanta where every other face you see is a black one

I never knew that. Well there REALLY rare up here.

Is it really that extreme?? lol
Doesn't ATL area have like over 3 millions whites and about 1.7 million blacks?
They had a few Fiestas in Austin to. I remember there was a HUGE Fiesta in South Austin. Fiesta is one of my favorite Supermarkets. I'm black though.lol

"All over" may have been an overstatement, but they tend to be in the more urban parts of SC. I think Hilton Head is where they first went to. No surprise, since it's right up the road from Savannah.
