It's also a lot of fun to drive down the FDR and go under, what, like 3 or 4 bridges, and have NY's skyline as a companion during the entire drive.

New York is just much more fun to look at. I think the bridges are the most amazing thing about the city. Is there anything in Chicago that can even compare to walking across the Brooklyn Bridge and staring at the Empire State Bldg to your right and the Statue of Liberty to your left? You have this sense of opportunity and freedom in NYC that feels unlike any place else on the planet. I think that Alicia Keys song really does capture the city's essence. "Concrete jungle that dreams are made of, there's nothing you can't do / These streets will make you feel brand new, bright lights will inspire you." That's so true.

NYC is so so so big that it crushes Chicago off sheer size alone. Chicago is slightly larger than Brooklyn. In Brooklyn or Queens alone, you have more diversity than ALL OF CHICAGOLAND. The West Indian Day parade in Brooklyn is the largest in the world and there is not a single Caribbean country that is not represented. The Puerto Rican Day parade in the Bronx is ridiculous and puts anything in Humboldt Park to shame. It's hard to think of all the things NYC offers because of its immense size, but you have an amusement park (Coney Island), beaches, the Unisphere, Grand Army Plaza, Washington Sq. Park...you get the point.

There are plenty of trees in Manhattan, and you even have several parks, including Riverside Park in Harlem and Fort Tryon in Washington Heights. Chicago has nothing that comes close. Wooded Island and Grant Park are a complete joke compared to Central Park. Plus, you've got Prospect Park in Brooklyn and a billion others. There's just so much in NYC that it's totally out of control.

Look man, An I supposed to be impressed of NY? Because when i went there I wasn't. I went in 07, becuase i went to vist family in union city, i've been to nyc, i even ate at that MCdz on 42nd st thats a knock off of the Chicago theatre.

Times Square=s**** overpriced fast food chains and suvernier shops and hot dog stands and annoying lights......is TS suppose to be the disneyland of NY? lol

Chicago parks are better then NYC's that's a fact. Millenium Park way better then anything in NYC, and Lincoln Park is the county's 2nd most visited park in America.NYC's Park's are a joke to Chicago's.

NYC's skyline breathtaking? LMAO! I was sleeping as we were approching NYC from the jersey turnpike, my freinds woke me up and told me we were almost near manhattan, so i woke up, open an eye, saw the pathetic short skyline and went back to sleep! lol, NYC's skyline is short! The only building that stood out was the Empire State Building and even that building is short! Chicago is breathtaking, drive from o'hare to downtown Chicago and you got like 7 supertalls not 1 like NY has. There much more to look at in Chicago then NYC. NYC isn't much more fun to look at, what so good about a grimy as city? It made me look at the floor! lol, so i wouldn't trip over the potholes, lol.....ok, concrete, brinks, yellow taxis, i don't remember seeing tree lined streets or lawns, skyscapers(which Chicago invented) whats so good about that? Bronx better then Humboldt Park? LMAO, may-be in your dreams, but in real life no!

Bronx=ugly ghetto filled with projects( and at least they would change the building type rite?) It's the same project buildings one next to the next one. Rats and roaches! S.BX makes Camden look good! lol

Alicia keys f Jay-z - NY state of mind?

"Concrete jungle that dreams are made of" lol, it is a concrete jungle, dreams are made of a concrete jungle? sounds to me people don't want to wake up and see real life as it is and not as a dream. That being said, some ppl need to get off their cloud, wake up and stop thinking NYC is better then every city in the world, because there's plenty of citys that are better and Chicago is one.

Chicago also invented the ferris wheel...Thanks coney island! lol

I mean com'on, NYC has projects one after the other, no lawns or trees in front of there lawns, its grimy and ugly! Chicago is better and prettier IMHO, In real life not in a dream!

You have a very poor (and misguided) understanding of history. Public housing in NYC (or anywhere for that matter) has little to do with it being a stepping off point for European immigrants. You're lumping two different eras in American history together (one being 19th century, the other being 20th century).

It is really worth it?.......IMHO NO!
Hahaha! Gimme a break. This thread is funny...

Stop bashing Chicago, visit before you speak. Lets end this thread. There's been alot of them already.

Hahaha! Keep going this is funny...

You do realize that Manhattan is mostly hidden from the NJ turnpike as it is behind a hill (the Palisades)? I think you may have missed it.

I dare this guy talk about nyc like that.

exactly u cant even see manhattans entire skyline just off the turnpike. Manhattans skyline on the east side of the island is completely different than the west side of the island. Does chicago have that?

What are you going to say once the world trade center is completed?

And the bronx has its good parts and its bad.As a chicagoen you should especially know this. The bronx has riverdale, city island, country club etc In riverdale you could live in a mansion. Does humboltpark have that?

How is someone from chicago going to mention crime or dirt anyway. Your city is far far worst. If anything chicago makes the bronx look good not vice versa

And lastly. NYC is the real cultural hub for puerto ricans. Lol chicago is like a cheap knockoff, like the little engine that could version. The bx has more rican culture in its pocket the your city has period

It does get kind of blocked but only when you get near the circle part before you head into the lincoln tunnel. But you could see the Manhattan skyline way before that. You could see it from newark and even futher.

Lets end the thread both cities are cool. And there's already been 100s of them.

FYI- Humboldt Park is a neighborhood inside a city and not a borough....that's the difference between the Bronx and Humboldt Park. Furthermore "real" Puerto Ricans identify with the island not some cultural hub.
