Most of the positions (not progressive) are commission based only...

We do have some larger health insurance companies here. Medical Mutual is based here and Kaiser Permanente has a large presence here as well.

I have heard that Kaiser is good to work for, at least where I live. I am not in the sales end of insurance. I have been a health claims aduster, a contract writer and a data entry person. My jobs have always been inside the office in these administrative or clerical capacity. I don't want to be in sales. I also have a paralegal degree but have never been able to use it.

The more insurance companies the better my chances so to hear there are quite a few in Cleveland is good news. Regarding age discrimination as another poster mentioned I think this is especially true for people in sales. All the sales people in my present insurance company are young.

Where are you coming from and why Cleveland?

I am now living in Portland OR. The job situation is very bad right now but it is never very good even in the best of times. I want to semi-retire in a few years and I want to move to a place where my dollar will got further. The cost of living here is extremely high.
Those are my main reasons. The rest is that I moved here from Chicago 30 years ago and the changes I have seen in this town make it no longer the place I used to like to live in. It's just not the town for me any longer.

the interviews in vegas are for permanent positions since the cost of living is lower there, especially with no city or state taxes.

I think Cleveland is a great town and has a lot to offer. I am living in so. Cal right now. I want to get back and hope some day I can.
The weather may be cold in Cleveland, but the people are warm. Really there is alot to do there and there is alot of beauty. This city is so under rated.
