In other business Tuesday, commissioners will consider a resolution to establish the community of Starlight as an intersection name.
The Wayne County Planning Department has received a petition to re-establish the naming of the community of Starlight in order for the state Department of Transportation to place the name on the DOT county map and establish a community identification sign.
This community name was established in 1894 at the intersection of South Jordan’s Chapel Road and Raynor Mill Road. After the community post office closed in 1905, the community name gradually fell into disuse.
Consent agenda items include:
• Motion to approve the addition of Glen Laurel, section nine, Stoney Creek Township, to the state maintenance system, as requested by the N.C. Department of Transportation.
