It is now confirmed: The Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners just got the all-clear to join the SEC one year early. This now takes place in the fall of 2024.
No, it says that’s the total for both schools.
The $50mm is chump change for Texas. Don’t know about OU.
Big12 sorelosers are mad their two biggest rainmakers are leaving for greener pastures.
IIRC, when A&M, Mizzou, and Nebraska left years ago, they were allowed to negotiate their departure fees down by half.
Doesn’t matter, bigger $$$$ are on the horizon until the next massive realignment down the road.

Lol. OU will make it up next year. This year each SEC school received $50 million.
How many B12 titles does Texas have recently? And how many CFP appearances compared to OU? Oh, a big ZERO.

Texas fans are well aware of the gross underperforming of the Longhorns since 2009. but when was the last time OU did anything with their national championship appearance?
And Medium Game Bob Stoops lost to a Charlie Strong team. Lol
I'm honestly not sure why they are rushing to join the SEC early. They weren't great in the Big 12 this season. What do they think is going to happen in the SEC?
Why not?
Getting in early to enhance the TV revenue negotiations by the SEC is a smart move. OU & UT are not going to take a $50mm hit when all is said & done.
I can see why the “left behind” schools are mad…. The Big 12 is losing its biggest TV money makers. (UT’s decade of mediocrity notwithstanding).

OU at least made the CFP. Texas grossly underachieved and has yet to.
"Medium Game" Bob was 11-7 against Texas. He also won 9 B12 titles compared to just ONE by Texas during his coaching tenure.

I'm not trying to hate, just stating the facts.
Stoops won 10 Big XII titles. Texas won two during Stoops' tenure (2005, 2009).
