Boise State: leave your conference for the Big 12 or Pac-10. You can't play one or two tough games a year and call yourself BCS worthy, you just can't! You will get a million "sorrys" from people along the way, but it's your best way to become legit if you want to be a legitimate collegiate football team. It's like if the OSU Buckeyes played in the MAC (even though the MAC may be tougher).
That's another thing.... you act like all they have to do is knock on the Big XII's door and ask to join.
It doesn't work like that. They have to be invited.
Yes. Ohio State is a known overrated team. What were the scores of the title games they were in? Boise State can't get a fair shake because programs like OSU and Bama refuse to play them. Only VT answered Boise's challenge. That's proof enough for me.
Ohio State plays Miami this weekend and Bama plays Penn State...but, yes, they're ducking Boise
----"they won't play us"-- ----" they won't play us "--
Time for the Boise State Athletic Director to put up or shut up.
Time for him to provide a list of teams he contacted a few years ago and got rejected.
The reason I said a few years ago, is because schedules arren't made out a week before a season starts.
It would be interesting to see how many teams are on that list and how much effort Boise State's AD actually made.
It's just great marketing by the Boise AD. They came out with the article last year that no one would play them once the weak SOS talk started to heat up.
One of the problems with Boise is that they're looking for home/home. Nebraska offered a 2-1 and Boise turned it down.

They turned it down because of the economics behind it. Like it or not we still have to pay the bills. People like to say "be like Florida State and play anyone anywhere" but these are different times.
Bronco Country had extensive dissection of this deal and why it failed. Instead, we got Ole Miss at their place and a favorable pay. Granted, Ole Miss looks pathetic to start the year, but they looked good last year and are generally pretty strong.
Point being... Ohio State paid Colorado something like 1.3 million to play them in the Shoe. The dregs of FBS football are routinely paid 900k-1.1 million for these bodybag home games against the elite. No one wants to pay us.
Jim Rome has it right:
"To the BCS:
"What are you afraid of? That that funky little program with the blue turf is going to crash your party, drink your beer, and leave with your women?"
Pat Forde has it right:
"Deal with it. Get on the Boise bus. Or, if boarding the bus is just too difficult for an Establishmentarian to do, get your snob school to schedule the Broncos home-and-home. Any takers?"

Quit hating because you know Boise is far and away the best program in the West, and because the Pac 10 blows. The MWC is far better than the Pac 10 this year and last.

Deal with it.
That's a strong statement to make after week one and there's really no way to confirm or deny it at this point. Let's say we let the dust settle and play a few more games before we start crowning the "best".
Anyways, that has nothing to do with my post you responded to. Bama and Ohio State are playing huge OOC games this weekend and Ohio State has played USC and Texas in the last couple of years OOC. They're not ducking Boise as a prior poster said.

I dropped Florida right out of MY personal top 10. They won't be back in the Top 10. They'll lose to FSU, Alabama, Georgia...for sure...this year.
I have to agree with that. Florida looked awful against an unranked, non-conference patsy and Boise actually played with some balls against a better than decent team with actual athletes.
I wonder if the other poster realizes that the Gators actually played Miami of Ohio. By the way, I think those 34 points the Gators scored may have had something to do with the four terrible interceptions the Redhawks threw.

Oh, I get it now...............Boise State is desperate to play tough teams but only under their stipulations
