Why motorcycles? That's a single occupant vehicle. And while that toll may start relatively low, I've no doubt the toll increases will come $1 at a time.

There's a new roadside C-DOT sign on northbound I-25 at Monument. It reads "pre-construction starts 9/20". For those who have to commute through the Monument/Castle Rock corridor over the next couple of years...think good thoughts and try to relax.

Everytime I am stuck in traffic going to Denver I also think how much better it would be if there was a high speed train.

I think "thank God I don't commute to Denver for a job".

Is it really worth it?

And that's the problem with the entire world. You want a high speed train to magically appear just for you. Ever been anywhere with high speed train service? Japan isn't some calm enjoyable wonderland. Those are the most stressed out people on the planet and they have high speed trains. Oh yeah, those trains are EXPENSIVE even to ride. My wife's family lives in Hiroshima and they fly to Tokyo rather than taking the magic trains.

Yes, for many people, it is. There really aren't any affordable communities around Denver that you'd want to live in if you're just coming in now. Until the Springs catches up in price, people are going to hit the roads hard.

Default Work begins

https://gazette.com/news/preconstruc...c6188c088.html

"The first of the project’s three phases will widen the 5 miles from Castle Rock to Sky View Lane. That will take more than a year.

Much of the September work will be done after dark, as crews erect a temporary concrete barrier median and prepare to shift both traffic lanes toward the shoulders in both directions.

Beginning in late September or early October, traffic will shift, and crews will begin building the toll lanes and expanded shoulders in the median.

Both lanes will remain open during the daytime, although drivers will see some lane closures at night, Rollison said. They should heed the “FINES DOUBLED” and ‘ROAD WORK AHEAD” signs and slow for the construction zone.

The new lanes likely will open in 2021, but the infrastructure will be tested for two to six months before the state starts collecting tolls, Rollison has said."

Your post is riddled with fallacies and half truths. Yes people in super densely populated cities with high costs of living are stressed out people sitting in cars not going anywhere are also stressed out. Personally I would rather get to Denver in a reasonable time than waste time sitting in traffic. Its just a more efficient solution than the band aid fix of adding another lane. Fact is we are to dependent on cars as a society.

Just saw it was backed-up again today due to a roll over near Larkspur at 6:30a- an on-going issue it seems.
