Two to three inches of heavy wet snow has come down in West Hartford in the last hour and a half, and it's all sticking. Roads very bad. Spouse called and said the drive to New Britain has been 5 miles/hour all the way because of very slippery roads. Temp has actually dropped from about 38 at 7 AM to 34 at 8:45 AM.

Car broke down. Sat on the highway and watched the snow accumulate from nothing to 2" in a matter of an hour. 84 is terrible.

Yikes. I just went on Albany Av westbound to make my normal Starbucks run to Bishops Corner. Turned around at King Philip and headed back home. There was a 2-mile long backup eastbound, and a virtual standstill west of Trout Brook as cars couldn't make it up the hill. Normally shouldn't have a problem with temps above freezing, but this one came down fast with no warning!

Well I though Saturday was a safe bet to take my snow tires off based on the 10 day forecast. Man was I wrong. I hope the roads clear out by the time I leave to go home later.

I usually take them off the weekend after April 1st every year. Since I will be away next weekend and the forecast said upper 40s and 50s all week I thought I was in the clear.

Go figure. March was a month of near-misses (6 in all, according to Joe Furey), but on the last day we get an unpredicted surprise!

Yesterday it was fifty degrees. Today it is snowing. Soon it will be warm and flowers will be blooming on the ground and on the trees everywhere. Birds are singing in the snow. Summer will come and you can go swimming in the ocean. Then Autumn arrives with crisp air, tons of applies, breathtaking displays of color in the foliage. Winter comes with a lot of cold, but sometimes a Winter Wonderland...trees covered with ice that look like they are made of crystal when the sun comes out. Sometimes deep white everywhere. Silent night.

Does anyone know if this weather will have any affect on the trees/plants blooming?

I usually have them off mid-March at the latest. I can only get an alignment on a Wednesday night right now, so I waited last week. Would've swapped them in the driveway over the weekend but not with the rain, and the state forest was sheer ice almost 2 weeks ago. I have studs and while I do love them, I'm really really tired of them right now!

It was 33 when I left East Windsor but now 40 in Glastonbury.
