Severe Thunderstorm warning for Boston and the MA, NH, ME coast now, the line is holding up

Good ..maybe this will shut you up....

I agree..its a welcome thing .. this humidity does not belong to September.

I work from 9-1 most Sundays in an indoor environment with few windows and I noticed the difference big time when I left, hooray! At long last! (But remember, we may get just a 1 day return of the yucky stuff on Wednesday).

80s, 80s, 80s, 80s... GIMME A BREAK!!

Sun angle still strong on top of 80s, at this point I don't care how dry it is. I need to recharge my batteries and temps in the 40s wont even do it.

Was doing some yard work, had to come in and turn AC on after an hour out there. ugh

Today makes it the 83rd day of 80°+ for Bridgeport. With 111 days left in the year, they need 3 more to break record

Number of days hitting 90°F+ this year so far..

Hartford 30
Bridgeport 18

I'm moving to Caribou!

How that ranks to date

Bridgeport the most on record
Concord the 3rd most
Philly 6th most
Hartford 6th most

Pretty much Top 10 all over the East

If the summer is really hot and higher than average, does that usually mean it'll be a warmer winter? Or are the high temperatures present because it's a El Niño year?

I know it's too early to tell but any predictions to how the winter will turn out? I would absolutely love if this winter is the same as last year. I'm getting too old to shovel. Hopefully in 10 years when I retire I'll never have to shovel again! *crossing fingers*.

While Montana is absolutely beautiful in every way possible, it just seems too isolating. The Billings area is the only exception since it's a small-medium sized metro area especially in the Wild West. Calgary is way too cold IMO though I prefer cold weather over hot humid weather. I'll be moving to Southern Virginia or Northern North Carolina but me and my wife haven't decided yet. It's far too early for us to think about it.

I'm not sure I understand the 2nd map.

interestingly, Central Park "only" had 21 days because they had a lot of "89s". This is just 4 above the average of 17 and just 1 more than last year.

Oh and you probably don't have to go as far as Caribou, Binghamton only had 2 90+ days and if you remember that was the first ones in almost 4 years (then again the scenery in Caribou is probably nicer )

And now they are already down to 76 so may not happen (have 6 degrees to go to not be a record though so I'm not sure how fast it will drop.....)

Wednesday is the only day they see breaking 80 at BDR this week so it may not make it, who knows?

When I saw the cluster of 2010s years in that top 15 list well I started to think, well, you know but since it's not nighttime lows, I then saw that cluster of 1950s years too to assure you

You prefer cold over hot yet your moving to VA or NC? Word of advice...go west. You can find nice areas above 2000' in those states. That should help. I like that isolation. I dont need to depend on anyone nor do I need to see bumpers or 1000 people walking on sidewalks. Lol

2nd map shows the rankings of all the 90s to date. In other words the 18 at BDR is most on record ranks #1. I know its cluttered, sorry.

Dont you know.. it was global warming in the 1950s too. Actually..no joke.. 1930s thats what was being talked about..so imagine when all that happened in the 1950s. People were getting worried.

But then 1960s and 70s came along and they warned us of upcoming Ice Age..then the cold 1980s was happening and people started worrying..
.
Then 1990s came about got warm, now we have to change our light bulbs, get EPA certified, and fix our mufflers because we're being warned of warming.

See how it works?

You don't want to even THINK ABOUT moving to South Virginia or North Carolina if you prefer cold over hot humid. I'd suggest the North Carolina mountains.
