Was a beautiful day on the North shore of long island today... cloudy and muggy in norwalk, zipped across and had lunch over there instead...

Happened to sleep out on the boat... sunrise over one of the norwalk islands today...

Rain should last all morning then get scattered later and into Tuesday. Enjoy.

National Weather Service New York NY
527 AM EDT MON SEP 19 2016

Widespread mostly beneficial rainfall on the way today as a
weakening front moves into the area, via favorable combination of
PW increasing to near 2 inches, upper level divergence in the
right rear quadrant of jet streak to the north, weak mid level
shortwaves moving up the coast, and weak low level convergence on
the nose of a developing 25-kt southerly LLJ, and weak
instability. Associated line of heavy showers and embedded tstms
should make it into areas NW of NYC through mid morning.
Meanwhile, additional showers developing over Delmarva and
southern riding up the coast and should fill in over NYC, Long
Island, and southern CT later this morning into this afternoon and
merge with the line moving in from the west. Hi-res model
guidance suggests most areas should see at least an inch of rain,
with heavier amts closer to 2 inches likely in Orange County, also
across parts of Long Island later this morning into this
afternoon.

It will be warm and rather humid today, with high temps in the
upper 70s to around 80, and dewpoints in the upper 60s and lower
70s.

Chances for showers/isolated thunder diminish tonight from west to
east, but cannot rule out periods of heavier showers out east via
any waves of low pressure riding along the weakening boundary.
Lows tonight will be in the 60s to lower 70s.

Did we get any rain overnight or was it just that little bit this morning?

Apparently my work has 1 inch of water all over the first floor... can't imagine that short burst did it... must be a pipe broken somewhere.
