This is very true. I always want to give people a heads up on the area however, especially those who are not familiar with it. Nobody should have a problem unless they venture onto certain side street/alleys.

You could take Metro North to Grand Central and transfer by Subway to Penn Station (you could walk) and then take the LIRR to Jamaica and hope on the Air Train. That is what I do when I fly jetBlue.
