Waterbury and Windham/Tolland County/New London County pretty much Eastern Connecticut has cheapest housing in the state

True but there some descent areas in Waterbury but limited access to jobs and poor train service made Waterbury less desirable. Waterbury residents has commute to Fairfield/New Haven areas or Hartford area for some jobs.

That's what I do rent a room on the outskirts of Waterbury near Route 8. Area always was a good section of Waterbury and still is. However, unfortunately has been starting to be plagued by some issues mostly drugs. Drive down to New Haven and Bridgeport daily.

Casinos, nyc, boston and real beaches are a drive and some people dont mind traveling

What I understand from speaking with a number of locals is that they feel the city is better off than before Katrina, because a large number of the dirt poor ghetto dwellers were forced out of the city and resettled in other areas.

Anyway you can't pick and choose. Cities have a tendency to form ghettos so the small size of CT cities certainly helps to prevent any large ones from forming here.

Cheap rent be a plus $1,000 under and have a good hospital/healthcare job opportunities. That would never happen in a city rent being cheaper than $1K. If could live within 30 minutes from a city with rent less than $1K is realistic, but impossible to find in CT.
Sorry but this does not exist anywhere. With big cities you get big prices or lower wages. Just the way it works. Jay

No. Idk where you get that from.. columbus oh is a big city and you can find a 1bedroo. For under 1000 easy.. just because the city is big doesnt mean its expensive. I can give you some small cities smaller than cities in ct thats just as exspensive as nyc or boston

But pay is lower there. That is how real estate prices get determined. It is based on supply and how much people can afford to pay. Jay

Pay their is not much lower. Ct has more high paying jobs. That is true but you can easily find a job making 70+. Why do you think so many people move to these places. Its called quality of life. People dont move to make less money. They move to make more money and have cheaper homes and ect. Look at all the places that people are flocking to. Compare the cost of living and the amouth you get paid in your profession and you will be surprised
