6:30am at 33° with shade snow still around but the spring birds are singing. They must sense a change in pattern coming. Sounds awesome outside.

Yeah, I feel like Im weeks behind on all projects now. Its a mess outside. Big chunk of foundation came off.
Good luck with the sell.

Guess who made the list........

Bridgeport being 14" above normal is the 30th largest snowfall departure in entire U.S

Take a look at who's #6 for the entire U.S.. Islip. They are over 3 feet above normal right now with 61.3"

Pittsburgh, NYC, Burlington, & Hartford were #32, 33, 34, & 35 so they just missed this list. NYC is 10.7" above normal. Hartford is +10.5"

The warmest lows ever in our part of the country are about 80-85. I don't think even Death Valley has had a low of over 100.....

Now looks like we are going to get tomorrow a piece of a small system to our east that may give the Boston area 1-3". Obviously a big nothing (they are saying possible mix with rain and little or no accumulation) but looks like we still technically have one more. Long range (despite many predictions of a below normal April) makes me think this will be truly it (I guess we could have a flurry/trace during April). If BDR can somehow eke out just 0.1" or more it will go over 40" for the season (currently at 39.9").

As for your snow totals above, I think Islip is truly impressive with their 30+" for March and 60+" for the season.

On the note of warm evening temps... Here's a very cool look at Hartford's warmest temps by the hour.

Source: (You can change stations)

Warmest temp at midnight was 87° August 3, 2006. Yikes.
Warmest temp at 8am was 88° June 10, 1984
Warmest temp at 4pm was 102° July 22, 2011

Yea... we forget how by late summer we (most of us) are sick of that too.

Hey..I want to give you credit..it has gotten to the point when I want model updates in winter..I don't even bother coming anywhere but here. That is a tribute to you...thank you for putting the effort in.

I'd pack my bags immediately. Air conditioning and swimming pools solve southern summers better than heat and snow plows solve northern winters.

I'm sure you're right. But I know that nightfall really didn't cool things off. My memory tends to exaggerate.

OH btw, I got a LOT done on the yard today. I'm beat! Looks much better but there's still much to do.

Haha, I learned about the models about a decade ago when I noticed folks in the accuweather forum predicting storms from a week out and talking about it. I didn't understand how they knew. When the storms started happening I was like whoa... models! I wanted to learn more. Then I realized all forecasts are based off models so I said why not skip the middle man? Now I cant go a day without looking at the models multiple times.

Snow is in air. Freezing temps too. Just started the stove.

Check out the 6-12" new snowfall reports from Western Virginia.
