I went outside and became dizzy. It's not from the heat, it's from poor air quality. Yesterday's air quality was apparently worse than today's and maybe that's why I felt even worse yesterday--headache, dizzy. I checked and it's ozone--it's only "moderately unhealthy" but when the ozone levels are at all high, it makes me sick. Will we only get one more day of this?

Cold front came through and not one drop. residual heat will remain for 1 more day until the north dry cool air mixes in.

Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service New York NY
806 PM EDT Mon Jul 20 2020

.SYNOPSIS...
A weak cold front moves south and east of the region this
evening. High pressure then builds to the north through Tuesday
morning, moving offshore Tuesday afternoon. A warm front
approaches Tuesday night. A warm front approaches from the
south mid week followed by a deepening trough and cold front
late Thursday into Friday. High builds behind the trough over
the weekend. Weaker trough enters New England at the beginning
of next week.

.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 AM TUESDAY MORNING/...

Drier air has moved in behind a cold front that has moved
through everywhere except the Twin Forks of Long Island and
southeastern Connecticut. Although some isolated areas in these
places may still see heat indices around 95 through 9 pm,
widespread heat indices of 95 or higher are no longer expected,
therefore the Heat Advisory has been cancelled.

High pressure builds to the north overnight.

There will be a moderate risk of rip currents through this
evening across Suffolk county beaches on a southeast swell and
southerly wind wave. There is a low risk of rip currents through
this evening across the NYC and Nassau county beaches.

.SHORT TERM /6 AM TUESDAY MORNING THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT/...
With zonal flow the high quickly transits to the north and moves
offshore Tuesday afternoon. Humidity levels will be lower
Tuesday, however, the air mass remains rather warm. So Tuesday`s
highs will remain above normal in the upper 80s to lower 90s,
with dew points in the lower to mid 60s
. Heat indices will be
around the air temperatures Tuesday

Summer so far is warmer than past 6 Summers. Low temps are the main cause. 4th warmest minimum temp Avg vs 12th warmest for the highs.

June 1 - July 21 is on the trend up warming but is just 1 degree warmer than the 1940s/50s. I'm sure there are summer lovers and farmers who would love to see this trend continue. Even southerners who wouldnt mind.

Just for comparison. The normal Avg Temp for Raleigh, NC for 1st half of summer is 79°. I'm sure people wouldnt mind that in CT. People still live in Raleigh. I wont though. Lol

BTW - Today was supposed to be the better day!! Without looking at the NWS discussion I'm going to say the High pressure SLOWED down the cold front.... Instead of passing last night it's taking forever today and so we added another day of Torch. :-(

HURRY UP!!!!!!
