I haven't been in this thread for a bit, so when I popped in a was a few pages back. Kind of giggling over these posts. Cam wins!

Truth (a very sad truth). But wait, haven't we done April the past couple of years?

Eversource has been junk today! Took 8 hours to report my outage. So glad they upped our delivery fee to fall flat on their faces with this.

Have seen many people saying that. Talk about an ultimate fall on your face moment for a company. Price gouge your customers by upping their fees 100% to 150% in one month and the next month you let a storm like this sneak up on you?

I have been watching this storm since it hit Florida... there was ZERO reason this should have caught so many off guard.. especially a damn power company!

I plan on calling them and letting them have it. Double our costs and then you cant even prepare for this? I assume we are getting crews from out of state again?

Btw... when the track shifted west and it wasn't the rain that was going to be the issue... I knew we were on the "worst side" of a storm. East side near center always the worst. I didnt expect this though. 30-50mph shouldnt do this damage.

Lastly... I feel like trees can't bend as well with strong winds from the south/southeast. They do better with NorEasters at 35-45mph. Just a thought.

Did you get my link to the power adaptor? It's a little pain to keep car started and have extension cord running into house but you can have internet with it and a laptop

I'm on WiFi right now because the mobile networks are down.

16hrs later Connecticut still has 700,000 out. Unbelievable. I honestly though we had fixed this! Didn't think we would see this again given the extensive pruning job they did after 2011.

The morning after....The coastal states can't catch a break with these 70s for lows. Wish it was like Ohio this morning in the refreshing 50s.

Credit where credit is due, TWC map looks generally correct.

Another thing I'm not seeing mentioned is how well this was forecasted! Pretty much right along the lines of what the NHC was saying, models also handled this pretty well. We had a lot of lead time.

I'll give Eversource the benefit of the doubt here, there are a lot of hoops to jump through to get power back on. Saw some blocked roads being cleared yesterday before the storm was even over, so it's not like they are sleeping

Anyone else have no internet, phone or TV after this storm? Mine was working fine when I went to bed last night but I woke up with it completely out. Never lost it once during Irene or Sandy or snowtober.
