It's only Stefanowski's second time running. Did they say Lamont was insane when he ran a second time. At least Stefanowski won the primary the first time he ran, Lamont did not.

Well said. It definitely won't end there. Mississippi's governor hedged when asked if he would rule out contraception bans in an interview this weekend. I'm sure he'd have done the same if he were asked if Mississippi was planning to roll back protections on marriage equality as well.

Democrats will definitely lose some Congressional districts, but if abortion is outlawed in several states, this will likely have dire consequences for some Republicans, even in red states. Because here's the thing: Once Roe is overturned, it won't end here. These same people touting limited government will then go after birth control, and then later marriage equality.

I am a very disillusioned Republican who has grown to dislike the party and honestly I borderline hate it. It’s become the party of liars, hypocrites and absolutely no integrity. They pander to the very dregs of society.

I agree with you about Stewart and have said many times the same thing. Unfortunately there aren’t more Republicans like her. In fact there are very few and even less on the national level.

I’ve repeatedly emailed the Connecticut Republican Party leadership saying this but I guess I don’t contribute enough to get an acknowledgment. Their loss. Jay

Yes but they did the same thing with Tom Foley. He lost the first time because his background was questionable at best. The second time he was caught telling a group of workers that it was their fault they were losing their jobs. How stupid can you be?

Whether the party likes it or not Stefanowski will be remembered for promising to eliminate the income tax, something no one, not even himself, believed. His business practices are questionable at best, so much so he couldn’t even do business in our state. These are pretty questionable at best. I just don’t see him overcoming all of that. Jay

I do think Lamont will be favored, but you forgot Jay Ned cannot escape the massive juvenile crime issue and being soft on it, nor can he escape the bill aimed at eliminating local zoning control. Both will harm him in the suburbs.

Stefanowski will have a good chance at winning because the Democrat brand is hurt big time right now. Biden and the Democrats have really wrecked the country. The effect this will have on state wide and local elections is hard to determine. We still have months of campaigning and politics to help figure this all out. Lamont is very vulnerable. He can promise more giveaways and push his questionable record but voters will see through this. Lamont is still just a northeast liberal democrat looking to tax and spend like usual. When the federal covid money is spent and gone the state will be in trouble. Too many freebies and not enough people paying into the system. How about some more growth of high paying white collar jobs instead of more Amazon distribution centers and day drivers.

Stamfords adding white collar jobs by the month. Posses of rich NYers have flooded big tax paying money into CT coffers the last couple years. The latest batches of undoc aliens are diverted to FL and South Carolina for the time being. You call for landscaping service or construction site help in those two states and Guatemala shows up.
The Rainy Day fund is maxed out. They're pouring billions into the pension fund. Teachers are quitting by the day so the pension will see even greater savings in the coming years.
CT is on fire!

Ahem, after last week's bombshell? You think it's the Democrats that have damaged their brand? BOTH brands are hurting right now.

Lamont is very vulnerable? Oh, this is news. I sure as hell am not gung ho about the guy, but I look at Stefanowski, and all I see is a carbon copy of Foley in 2014 (whom I voted for and lost, unfortunately.) I'm growing less and less convinced that Ned will address juvenile crime, and I look at his attempt to micromanage towns with insane woke crap with his zoning plan and I see a hectoring taskmaster of the nanny state. That said, I watch Bob's political ads, I wait for him to say ANYTHING about either of these, and mum is the word. What the hell is his problem?

Please not NED. We need someone to keep the young generation in CT. We need someone young to drive people to the polls and get excited for CT. Ned is not the guy.
