It played out just as I expected when I posted back in February, Stefanowski got crushed. If Republicans want to win the growing number of independent voters in the general elections, especially in Connecticut and New England, they need to pick fiscal conservatives who are socially moderate. The far-right positions may win primaries with hard-right party loyalists but they don't win general elections. It's unfortunate, because Connecticut would only benefit from further improving fiscal policy by lessening the tax burden on individuals and businesses.

I just don't understand those voting for the far left in CT and New England. It baffles me how they don't see it but then complain about things which are a result of their choice. I mean they must be super happy with life and their pockets to keep voting Blue.

In terms of the governor, Lamont is not far left, he is a moderate. At the local level it's all about who they feel will get their municipality the most from the state. For those areas that don't get much they tend to lean Republican. In terms of the senate and congressional seats, it makes no sense to me. Most people I talk to don't have anything they can say that candidate has done for the them, the state or the country but they end up voting for them anyway because they know what to expect from them even if it's not much.

What didn't? Like a conquering hero, Lamont rolled to an easy victory as expected. He never broke a sweat.

If you want a model of success look north. Chris Sununu has the right formula. A candidate like him would win in CT.

Connecticut is officially the poster child for Einstein’s definition of insanity: Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.
