5PM Update slight nudge (15 miles) east - NHC new predicted landfall spot is East Lyme area - used to be Madison.

Outflow rainbands already in the Fairfield area.

Yes, I saw that slight eastward shift. Thanks for the updates.

Good feeling about this? Crews from Ohio are helping, going to Berlin.
Probably more.

Sounds like they're focusing on eastern half of CT.

No, it’s Hartford County too. Has an 860 area code. I haven’t live in Fairfield County in a coupe decades now. Jay

Surprised BDL isn’t announcing any closures or cancellations.

They will try to stay open as long as possible. Heck they don’t close for snow. Doubt they will close for this unless it’s a full hurricane throughout the state. Jay

Interesting. I know FL airports close if they are under a hurricane warning. Surprised given how close the warning is to BDL (less than 40 miles to NHC), they wouldn’t err on the side of caution. I guess leaving it up to individual airlines is their way to go about it.

I just looked at winds aloft, not impressed over BDL. I didn't take too much time to dig but doesn't look like there's over 60mph winds at 5000 feet nor at 10,000 feet. I wonder if that's why they aren't closing yet. I wonder what speed it takes for them to close. I assume a plane cant land with 40mph winds.
