Zimbabweans baffled by foreign concern for killed lion - El Paso Times
I agree. And even if the outrage is greater in Zimbabwe than this article indicates, I'm sure that most Zimbabweans realize that the death of this lion (indeed, there seems to be no similar widespread outrage at the dozens of other lions that are lawfully killed in Zimbabwe each year) ranks low on a scale of things to be outraged by. HIV/AIDS is rampant, as is poverty, lack of clean and accessible drinking water/electricity for many, other diseases are killing many and even homicides are a problem.

Even though I hate to see animals killed for fun , there are many things that we don't see. Here is another take on it.

The Lion kills virtually EVERY chance it gets, i'm amazed at all the pathetic outcry about this old lion who eats it's prey alive weekly or daily, for years.
There really are so so many people who see this lion the same as they see a cute stuffed animal, or 'the lion king' disney image.

Besides that, it's very likely that his 'guide' just took him anywhere he knew there would be a lion to make the easy $$$$$. If a Frenchman, or a Zimbabwayan came to the usa and shot a wolf out in the wild , i'd not want him jailed for it, especially if Americans had guided him.

How about getting rid of mugabe? you know, the guy who kills MILLIONS of PEOPLE every year through wars and famine while taking all foreign aid to his bank? no. but an old lion? don't mess with him. of course not. i love human hypocrisy.

Well I don't know what level of outrage exists in Zimbabwe but the government has initiated extradition of the good dentist.

Stop deflecting into another ISSUE- he had a previous record already-with a bear- and still went on the same path- he has destroyed himself! Judgement came from exposure, he was found out--now he needs to man up and go to that country and explain himself- the very GUIDES are looking for him

We have the same thing here in SD on a micro level. People can no longer use one of our beaches due to cute and cuddly seals but the irony is just over a few hundred yards away the same people want to oust sea birds and sea lions because they are cr*pping on the rocks and it really stinks.

100% hypocritically behavior.

Most probably ate meat the same day they posted about the incident too. That someone else had to kill.

I don't think this outrage will even be remembered next year, so I'm not sure it's very valuable for vote getting. I think Obama just likes the attention focused on something that's not Planned Parenthood.

The thing that really irritates me is that he will entertain extraditing a U.S. citizen to the very banana republic that took this guy's money gladly and will love to get him back so they can extract even more money from him (assuming he will have any after the activists are done destroying his life and business), while he was utterly incapable of getting our prisoners out of Iran.

Cecil the Lion was my friend. He read me bedtime stories. Although, he ate my mom and dad when i was little it was just a misunderstanding. He paid for my schooling and taught me right from wrong. #CeciltheLiontaughtmehowtobehuman.

This doctor needs to be decapitated and then burnt alive as an offering to the Lion Gods.

p.s. i like tiger tiddays.
