This Lowe's story occurred in Virginia. Why have we gotten off of the subject as with the ongoing Santa Ana factor that was introduced here?
I knew of an elderly woman here in the south who has long since passed on but who was of the old school of thought in regard to race.
She lived in a large, old house & would not let her personal house maid use any bathroom in the home & made her go outside to use the outhouse in the back yard.
That was pretty damnably despicable & racist if you ask me.
I'm no young spring chicken myself anymore but I'm not saddened to see the old ways die off along with the passing of the older generations.
What's sad about this whole story is that we've come to a place where paranoia of even the hint of something to do with race causes a knee jerk reaction akin to using a sledge hammer to kill a fly. This should have at the most caused a conversation between the manager/employee and maybe the manager looking to corporate for direction in the future.
Was the lady wrong to demand that no black person show up at her house? Sure but as I've stated before there could be a valid mental issue for the request so do we now discriminate against the mentally ill?
Was the manager wrong for pulling the black driver from the delivery? No, I don't think so as long as there was no loss of pay or any negative consequences to the driver and there were no policies for such an occurrence as you can't believe this is the first time something like this has happened. I had a neighbor once who wouldn't let gay people anywhere near his jobsites (he built houses) and constantly talked about how they should all be killed.
Was the driver wrong in making such a big deal of this costing a fellow employee his job? I think so.
This all could have been handled with conversation and understanding instead it ran headlong into victimhood.
Welcome to the new world of the perpetually offended.
So I see the woman says she has no regrets about her decision and that she has the right to have whatever she wants.
Ha, is she going to give the manager who got fired a job?
Now that I've actually seen the video I've changed my take a bit.
She seems like a perfectly competent racist old bag.

Are you serious? Where have you been for the last 50 years? What the manager did was 100% illegal. They fired the him because they have zero chance of defending his decision in an inevitable lawsuit.

(a) Employer practices
It shall be an unlawful employment practice for an employer -
(1) to fail or refuse to hire or to discharge any individual,
or otherwise to discriminate against any individual with respect
to his compensation, terms, conditions, or privileges of
employment, because of such individual's race, color, religion,
sex, or national origin; or
(2) to limit, segregate, or classify his employees or
applicants for employment in any way which would deprive or tend
to deprive any individual of employment opportunities or
otherwise adversely affect his status as an employee, because of
such individual's race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.
if he was fired it was probably because of bad press. The company also probably made the best decision for their own self-centered best interest by firing him even if he didn't deserve it. life is not fair.
The bad press was because he did the wrong thing.
