And before it was? No rights for slaves? Law of the land and all?

The law was unconstitutional and was not a law EVEN WHEN IT WAS IN PLACE. Is that really that hard to understand? Or is the law of the land and the government the ultimate arbiter of rights?

Yes, that was the law of the land. Your understanding of history is staggering.

Ah, so if someone refused to follow that law you would within that logical context support jailing them. Cool

It's hard to stay either logically or morally consistent when your only guiding principle is that the end Justifies the means.

Get it?

A law that you, residing in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA must follow.

I don't agree with the 55MPH speed limit LAW on the interstate by me. If I get caught exceeding that LAW though, I get fined, or could go to jail.

There are anti-discrimination LAWS for a GOOD reason.
They also used to have laws punishing those who helped runaway slaves.

Anti-discrimination laws over non-essential businesses are feel good laws, that's it.

Obviously, you want morality laws and feel-good laws. I don't. Government shouldn't have such power.

I never said that.

So what are you doing to change the law?

I send emails to public representatives expressing these ideas.

I donate to candidates who support such ideas.

There have even been times when I've done block walking for candidates who I feel were conservative libertarians.

Yes actually when you claimed that due to the fact that the SC had upheld the civil "rights" act violating that law should result in punishment due to the fact that it was the law of the land. Slavery was also upheld as the law of the land by the supreme court. You implicitly agree with jailing those that help free slaves as a result of that position of logic. You can not selectively apply a logical belief while being intellectually honest in a debate.

You dont get to claim a law is constitutional because the SC upheld it in one instance and reject that logic in another.

No person should be at a disadvantage due to their genetics.

Good thing people like you are on the wayside though!
